Ralph E. "Skip" Dearborn, 65, passed away October 19, 2009 at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls. "Skip" was born on November 3, 1943 in North Conway, NH, to Ralph and Gertrude (Maloney) Dearborn. After graduating from Winthrop High School, he attended Norwich Military Academy for one year and then went on to graduate from West Point Military Academy in 1965. "Skip" was united in marriage to Betty Christensen on January 21, 1967 in Sioux Falls. She preceded him in death on November 22, 2003. "Skip" was employed by NW Bell (Qwest) as an engineer until he retired in 1996. He was a member of St. Michael Church and was the Treasurer of the Dakota Academy of Performing Arts. "Skip" is survived by a daughter: Kara (Greg) Simmermon, Parker, SD; son: Todd (Dawn) Dearborn, Indianapolis, IN; and grandchildren: Ryan Neuman, Katie Simmermon, Tiadra Simmermon and Rena Dearborn his mother: Gertrude Dearborn, Windham, NH, and sister: Deborah (Gary) Anderson, Windham, NH. Visitation will be Thursday, 4 PM at Barnett-Lewis Funeral Home with a Scripture Vigil at 7 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, 11 AM at St. Michael Church with burial to follow at St. Michael Cemetery.
