Norma Jean Vrondran
11-14-2017

Norma Jean (Clark) Vrondran was born in McLaughlin, SD January 4th, 1957 to John and Shirlene “Tootie” (Uhrig) Clark. She passed away surrounded by family November 14th at the age of 60.

At the age of 2, Norma and her family relocated to Buffalo, SD. She resided there for nearly half of her life where she attended Buffalo Elementary and graduated from Buffalo High School in 1975. She moved away in 1987 to explore, living short durations in several places before finding Sioux Falls, SD as the place she would make her new home and the home of her children. After moving to Sioux Falls, Norma attended the Stenotype Institute of South Dakota, graduating with a legal and executive secretary degree in 1994. She dedicated 23 years of her life to Disability Rights South Dakota (Formerly SD Advocacy Services) where she worked as an Administrative Assistant. She eventually moved to the small town of Trent, SD in 2005 for a quiet place to live, but commuted to Sioux Falls every day.

During her life, Norma was blessed with many dear friends who she considered family and touched many lives. Norma was a mom and a grandma to more than just family because everyone was family, even her pets and children’s pets that she called her grand babies. She enjoyed spending time outdoors camping, fishing, and gardening. She loved canning, baking, and cooking and would give away homemade salsa or baked goods, always thoughtfully remembering the picky eaters and made a special batch just for them. She loved nothing more than to spend time with her children, grandchildren, siblings, and friends, always able to put a smile on people’s faces. The only thing she hated were goodbyes.

She will be missed by her three children: Amber (Kelly) Rear, Geoff (Kristen) Clark, Kyle (Amanda) Jamison, all of Sioux Falls, SD; four siblings: Renee (Stuart) Guptill of Buffalo, SD, Mark (Sara) Clark of Lexington, KY, Laura (Chad) Trapp of Pierre, SD, JoDee Piekkola of Buffalo, SD and sister-in-law Donna Mason of Sturgis, SD; four grandchildren: Brandon, Cristofer, Jonathan and Mathew Rear, numerous nieces and nephews, as well as Life partner Larry Baucom and his children: Matthew (Misty), Annette, Jeff (Sharon), and Samantha (Derik); grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents John and Shirlene Clark, Stepfather Ronald Piekkola, brother-in-law David Hoyt, and brother John “B.J.” Clark.

Visitation will be Friday November 17, 5:00 PM at Barnett-Lewis Funeral Home with a Prayer Service at 6:30 PM. A Funeral Service will be Saturday the 18, 10:00 AM at Barnett-Lewis Funeral Home.
