Norma Jean (Preble) Pockrandt

Norma Jean (Preble) Pockrandt, 93 gained her angle wings on Thursday, March 21, 2024, in Viborg, S.D. 

Norma was born July 30, 1930, in Burke, S.D. to Walter and Hazel (Smith) Preble. After graduating High School, she went on to Nursing School and received her RN degree from Sioux Valley Hospital Nursing program. She met and married Wilfred C. Pockrandt, and they had 3 sons from this union. 

Norma was a warrior for volunteer work for her church and Nursing Auxiliary as well as many others. 

She was passionate about keeping her children as well as her grandchildren and great-grandchildren close.

Thankful for sharing her life are son: Michael (partner Mary Mentzer); daughter-in-law: Karen (Roger) Nester; grandchildren: Brian Pockrandt, Hope (Pockrandt) Wallenstein, Amber Pockrandt, Tracey (Telly) Nester-Mikel, and Mary Beth Pockrandt; as well as 11 great-grandchildren. Norma is preceded in death by her husband: Wilfred Pockrandt; sons: Scott, and Jack; brother: Even Preble and her parents.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Sioux Valley Nursing Auxiliary. 

A private family Committal Service will take place before Visitation at 5:30 PM with a Memorial Service at 7:00 PM Tuesday, April 2 at Barnett-Lewis Funeral Home.
