Joanne Bohms
10-15-2024

Joanne Bohms, age 69, passed away Tuesday October 15th, 2024, at the Doherty Hospice House in Sioux Falls, SD. A private family burial will be at the Black Hills National Cemetery in Sturgis, SD where she will be at rest with her husband, Delbert.

Joanne Eastman was born on February 6, 1955, to Gordon and Inez Eastman in Sioux Falls, SD. She attended Cathedral Grade School and O"Gorman High School, graduating in 1973.

On April 15, 1976, Joanne married the love of her life, Delbert Bohms. Joanne and Del loved their life together; bowling, movies and playing cards together. Also, traveling to their favorite places including summers at Lake Okoboji with friends and their beloved Godchildren Amy and Andy.

Another favorite past-time with Amy and Andy was spoiling them at Valley Fair, always being one of the first in line to the park!

Her family Hodne Reunion at the Farm was always a favorite too! Enjoying the weekend with her immediate family as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins with food, games, and the infamous White Elephant auction.

Later in life, Joanne enjoyed spending time with family and friends, watching old movies, especially Gone with the Wind and listening to Garth Brooks. She liked anything Irish and was not one to pass up an Irish Coffee!

Those who knew Joanne, also knew how important her tattoos were to her, each having a special meaning. Also special to Joanne was her knitting of hats, scarves, and blankets. She
would take them to the downtown library and hand these out to those needing extra warmth and comfort.

Grateful to have shared her life are her siblings, Mark Eastman, Bob (Karen) Eastman, David (Maggie) Eastman, Nancy (Doug) Hauck, Bruce (Janet) Eastman, Dan (Doraina) Eastman,
Jane (Mike) Torrenti, Paul (Marilyn) Eastman and Julie (Bob) Viereck. In addition to many nieces and nephews are her extended family of best-friends, Cindy and Duayne Wieczorek; and Godchildren: Amy Glaser, and Andy Wieczorek.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Delbert Bohms, son, Duane Keimig; her parents, Inez, and Gordon Eastman; and sibling, Stephen Eastman.
