Jody Ann Cox

Jody Ann Cox, age 65, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, at 12:25 a.m. on Sunday, April 27, 2025, in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

Jody was born on June 25, 1959, in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, to Roland and Joyce Peterson. She grew up on a farm nine miles north of Salem, South Dakota, where she graduated from high school in 1977. Jody furthered her education at Mitchell Vo-Tech, developing her secretarial skills and paving the way for a distinguished career in banking.

In August 1984, she married Robert James Cox of Sioux Falls. They began their life together in Sioux Falls, where Jody balanced her career and motherhood before relocating to Las Vegas, Nevada, in 1991. Jody dedicated 29 years to Citibank, retiring in 2014. She and Robert returned to Sioux Falls in 2022.

Jody cherished cooking, gardening, and, above all, spending quality time with her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by her loving husband of nearly 41 years, Robert Cox, and their four children: Montgomery (Laura) of Mine Hill, New Jersey, Roland (Melissa) of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Robert (Brooke) of Las Vegas, Nevada, Elizabeth (Tyler) Faucette of Las Vegas, Nevada.

Jody is also survived by four beloved grandchildren: Ryker Marvin Faucette, Debra Elizabeth Cox, Ivy Jean Cox, and Jameson Dale Cox, all of Las Vegas, Nevada. Additionally, she is survived by her father, Roland (Lynn) Peterson; brothers, Steve Peterson of Salem, South Dakota, and Bruce (Jana) Peterson of Sioux Falls; along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Joyce Peterson Johnson of Salem, South Dakota, and her grandparents.

Jody’s unwavering kindness, devotion, and warmth will leave a lasting legacy cherished by all who knew and loved her.
