Donna Mae Belitz

Donna Mae Belitz passed away on May 28, 2021 in Parkston, SD. Donna was born October 13, 1934, to Clarence and Frances Friedel in Ethan, SD. She married the love of her life, Robert Belitz, on September 22, 1955 and they were blessed with seven children.

Donna had many joys in her life. She was an avid card player and enjoyed playing with family and friends. She loved to spend time in nature camping and fishing. Her hobbies included, shopping, reading, and being a chocolate connoisseur. Donna’s greatest joy in life was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She never missed a birthday or any special occasion. Donna was always there making sure her family knew how much she loved them. She was a force to be reckoned with and was always the cornerstone of her family. Donna was an optimist and rarely did you see her without a big smile on her face. 

Preceding Donna in death were her parents Clarence and Frances Friedel, her loving husband Robert, and her great-grandchild Jayden Arnold. 

Donna is survived by her two sons: Clarence (Darcy) Belitz, Chamberlain, SD; Mark (Wanda) Belitz, Ethan, SD; five daughters: Kimberly (Tom) Froke, Colman, SD; Christine Belitz, Sioux Falls, SD; Roberta Belitz, Sioux Falls, SD; Mary (Ted) Carrell, Sioux Falls, SD; and Kathy (Monte) Houchin, Kennebec, SD; as well as 16 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.  
A wake will be held at Barnett-Lewis Funeral Home Monday, May 31st, 2021 at 5 p.m. with a prayer service at 7 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. on June 1st, 2021 at Christ the King Catholic Church in Sioux Falls. There will be a light lunch in the church hall with  burial to follow at 3 p.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Cemetery in Ethan, SD. In lieu of flowers, please send a memorial to the Bishop Dudley Hospitality House in Sioux Falls, SD.
